Owners/Directors

Stephanie Riley and Kattie Brewer, the owners and directors behind Premier Dance Academy, established their studio in 2010. With over thirty years of shared experience in dancing and performing, they bring a wealth of expertise to their roles as owners and directors. Their extensive training spans a wide range of dance styles, including ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, lyrical, variations, partnering, character, modern, as well as acting and musical theater. Stephanie and Kattie’s long-standing collaboration as instructors and mentors has forged a strong partnership and a cohesive philosophy, forming the cornerstone of Premier Dance Academy’s approach to dance education.

Stephanie’s passion for the performing arts spans over 30 years, with extensive training in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, musical theater, variations, partnering, and pointe. She has performed in classical productions such as The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, and Giselle, as well as original works by renowned choreographers.

She trained at prestigious programs including the Joffrey Ballet School, Broadway Dance Center, Steps on Broadway and the School of American Ballet in New York City, where she attended the year-round program on full scholarship. Stephanie has also developed her choreography through national conferences and has earned recognition for her award-winning work.

A guest teacher, choreographer, and adjudicator across Houston, she has worked with institutions such as The Kinkaid School and San Jacinto College. She holds a B.S. in Kinesiology–Exercise Science, A.A.S. in Neurodiagnostic Technology and is both a Registered EEG Technologist and Certified Adaptive Fitness Trainer.

Above all, she values her role as a mother to her boys, Lincoln, Jude, and bonus son, Jakob. Since 2010, Stephanie has been honored to serve as Co-Director/Owner of Premier Dance Academy where she continues to share her love of dance, choreography, and education with the next generation.

Kattie Brewer began her dance journey over 30 years ago at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, where she trained in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, pointe, musical theater, character, and partnering. She performed in productions including The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Giselle, Dracula, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella, and had the opportunity to perform original works by accomplished choreographers.

At fourteen, Kattie received a scholarship to attend a summer intensive at the Joffrey Ballet School in New York. She later continued her training at the San Francisco Ballet School and with Soili Arvola in Hawaii.

Kattie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Dance from the University of Houston in 2009, where she studied dance, choreography, pedagogy, acting, and theater design. Her choreography has been recognized at competitions and conventions throughout the Houston area, and she has also worked as a guest performer, choreographer, judge, and adjudicator.

Since co-founding Premier Dance Academy in 2010, Kattie has dedicated herself to teaching, choreographing, and mentoring young dancers. As Co-Director/Owner, she enjoys sharing her experience and love of dance with her students and the community.

Outside of the studio, Kattie enjoys spending time with her two favorite people, her children, Addison and Matix.

Ms. Laurie retired in 2020 from public education after loving it for 29 years. She is credited with directing and teaching dance at Friendswood High School, Clear Brook High School and Deer Park High School. Laurie not only taught competitive dance team but choreographed numerous musicals and works with several junior high and high school choir programs. Her favorite styles of dance are musical theater, novelty, contemporary and lyrical. She grew up training at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. Laurie’s highest interest is building dancers foundation and technical base in order to excel in all areas of dance. A graduate of Sam Houston State Dance Program, Laurie also spent several seasons professionally performing with The Houston Grand Opera.

Laurie is excited to bring a training program to Premier for dancers to focus on strength and conditioning as well as technical training.

Marie Perrett has been dancing for 20 years, involving herself in studio dance, cheer, drill team, and collegiate dance. She has an associates of Science, Fine Arts and a Bachelor’s in Science. She started teaching about 5 years ago and has award-winning dances with some of her students. Her favorite styles of dance are Drill Team , Hip-Hop, and Jazz. Marie’s hobbies are reading books, attending dance classes, and spending time with her dogs.

Abigail Bowers is and a dancer and choreographer from Deer Park, TX. 

She has trained in multiple styles of dance and especially loves contemporary, jazz and side line pom style. Abigail earned her BFA in dance with a minor in marketing from Sam Houston State University. 

Abigail has been working for Crowd Pleasers Dance Company since 2019 where she has taught camps as the lead instructor as well as being on the planning side of private camps. She also instructs private dance lessons. 

Abigail is currently in her second season cheering for an MLB team and serves as captain this year.

Taryn began dancing at the age of three and quickly developed a passion for performance, entering competitions by age five. Over the years, she trained and competed in a wide range of styles including ballet (pointe), tap, jazz, clogging, hip hop, contemporary, lyrical, and musical theater. A formative experience in her training was being selected for an intensive ballet program at age twelve, which played a key role in shaping her technique and artistry. Taryn spent many of her most influential years training under Megan Young at Innovative Dance, Inc. which later transitioned to teaching young dancers in tap, clogging, combination classes, and choreographing recital and competition routines. In addition to her dance background, Taryn has extensive experience working with children of all ages through teaching and camp counseling roles. Professionally, Taryn works for NASA as a Training Systems Operator, blending customer service and technical support. She is also a dedicated parent to her young son.
